The Smell in the Elevator

My Office Building

Points: 2

It was in the middle elevator. I was going downstairs for a smoke. It smelled kinda like food. It also smelled kinda like building materials, but not synthetic, more like real wood or glue made from real hooves. Either way, it did not smell bad (plus one point). Also, it was noticable, but not too strong (plus one point). I thought this smell was interesting because usually if you're in an elevator and it smells like food or bulding materials it sucks.

The Sweet Smell of Street Cannabis

In The Street

On Manhattan sidewalks, especially around lunchtime and in the early evening, first there is a subtle hint in the air (+2). The next step is to estimate the weed vector and triangulate the position of the doobage in question (+1). Generally, it is in the hands of a building superintendant (+1) or bicycle messenger (+1). When the toker is identified, one often notices the j-bird, held firmly but subtly at his side (+1 -- note, I have never spotted a lady burner, but that would be GREATLY appreciated (potential +5)). I always try to inhale deeply and achieve the proverbial contact high, but unfortunately, all this business about second-hand smoke seems to be claptrap (-1).
